Data Loss in Mac Leopard while repartitioning the disk

Hard drive partitioning is the process of dividing the disk into two or more discrete and separate sections, called ‘volumes’. Mac hard drive can be partitioned in 16 different volumes, each with different size and file format. Due to the increased size of the drive, it is important to partition the drive for easy and fast access and proper management.

In Mac Leopard, you can partition the drive easily by following these steps-
1. In volume scheme drop down list select the number of partitions you want.
2. Select the first partition as a primary volume for installing OS, select file system and type the name of the partition.
3. Select the name and file system of other partitions.
4. Define the size of the partitions and click on apply.

Now you get you hard drive divided in different volumes. In primary hard drive, install your Mac Leopard operating system and on other hard drive, store you other data you want to save. You have installed the operating system and it is running successfully.
Sometimes you face some problems regarding to the size of hard drive volumes. Your one volume is big sized and your data is less then it decreases the accessing speed and your other volume is small sized and you need to store a big database on it. In such conditions, you require to repartition the hard drive.

Repartition is the process of redefining the size of hard drive volumes. You may repartition your drive by simply following the above steps. But when you resize the volumes, you need to delete the existing volumes and format them. In this process, the data exist on particular volume will loss and you require data recovery mac for restoring these lost data.

Mac data recovery software can help in recovering data loss due to repartitioning. These software help you in recovering and restoring all data lost from hard drive volumes including files, folders, pictures, audio and video files.
