Mac vs Windows

In the past, there have been two feasible choices for computing; Macs and Windows. Windows has been widely popular, and has, for the most part, controlled the PC industry. Windows based computers have traditionally been cheaper than Macs, and have been had more software titles.

On the other hand, Macs have traditionally cost a little more than Windows PCs and have had limited software selection. Now this tradition has changed, Apple Inc. introduced a new series of operating system called Mac OS X. Today these are the main competitors of the computer market.

Stability
Almost all users have experienced that Windows has poor stability. Several users have to reboot their PC at least once a day. Also, when a program locks up, the entire system usually quits functioning. This is because all the Windows software is interrelated to each other.
OS X does not work anything like this. Instead, it separates most programs from each other, and from the OS itself. It means if one program stop working, the rest of the programs keep working.
Reliability

To put is simply, Windows is easy to break. If you go to the wrong file or directory, the entire computer can quit working. This is not too with OS X. it is so smart, that you can move a program file/directory anywhere on your hard drive, and it won’t break.
Mac systems are also very easy to solve and fix the problems, whereas Windows computers often require the professional help.

Security

Windows is disreputable for security problems and viruses. This cause a danger to all Windows user, because a virus can wipe out the entire hard drive, and security holes can allow hackers to control and damage your computer.
Viruses and security holes on the Mac are almost nonexistent with OS X. Because OS X is built on UNIX, and UNIX is an extremely secure operating system, OS X has yet to be threatened by a virus or have a major security hole.

Prone to Failure

Windows computer are more prone to failure. They can fail due to a number of reasons including hardware malfunction, logical error and software malfunction.
Mac is less prone to failure as compared to the Windows. There is much less possibilities in Mac to failure.

These are some common comparison points and according to these points Mac is more secure, reliable and less prone to failure operating system. But there is no guarantee that your data is 100% secure in any of the operating system either it is Mac or Windows.
